About Mufti Niaz:
Shaykh Niaz Hannan is the Imam and Religious Director at ICSJ (Islamic Center of South Jersey) in Palmyra, New Jersey. Sh. Hannan began his journey in Sacred sciences from the blessed lap of his mother and his late grandfather, Shaykh Maulana Raihanul Haque at a very young age. He started memorizing the Holy Qurān at North Penn Mosque in Lansdale, Pennsylvania under the guidance of Maulana Mostafa Hossain. He continued his Qurānic education at Darul-Uloom Al-Madania before completing his Ḥifẓ in the spring of 2004. For the next nine years, Shaykh Hannan would pursue further qualifications in Islamic Studies in the UK at Madinatul-Uloom Al-Islamiya in Kidderminster, near Birmingham before graduating as an ‘Ālim in the Islamic Sciences (Tafsīr, Ḥadīth, Fiqh, etc.) in 2011 from Jamiatul Ilm Wal Huda in Blackburn, north of Manchester. The following year, he began training as a Mufti (issuer of Islamic legal responses) and completed an MA in Islamic Studies from the Markfield Institute of Higher Education (MIHE). Prior to departing the UK, he enrolled at the Cambridge Muslim College, where he completed a Diploma in Contextual Islamic Studies in Leadership under the tutelage of Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad (Timothy J. Winter), benefiting from the company of some of the most well-known Muslim scholars and intellectuals in the world.
